Sally Sanders began her interest of photography with a 9th grade career notebook on Industrial Photography. Her interest remained throughout High School and continued as she studied at Delta College in photography, business management and interior design. Subsequently producing fine art photography and working as a freelance photographer; she has also had the pleasure to work side by side with two very gifted commercial photographers. First; with Robert Jackson as a photographer, assistant and dark room technician. This was also when she began her love of doing event photography. Robert expanded her knowledge in all formats of cameras, lighting, and darkroom technologies. During that time she won scholarships and attended courses
at Winonah School of Photography in Chicago.

She enjoyed working with Robert for five years until one tragic day his studio was lost in a fire. Then she began her career with Don Rutt Photography; which lasted 18 years! She was Dons right hand; as photographer, assistant, stylist, planner, coordinator and manager. Again fortunate to work with one of the best, Sally expanded her knowledge engaging the whole realm of the industry, gaining extensive experience with photography, lighting (studio and on location), and “Hosemaster” fiber optic lighting. Then Don Rutt sold his studio, moving on to other interests. So Sally is now offering the public her years of experience as a professional photographer and yes; Sal Shoots too!

Sally also excels as a food and prop stylist with hands on experience for clients like Subway, Albies, and Eagle Family Foods. She has attended Food on Film courses, assisted the talented Diane Long, Long on Style, and several top chefs.

Although Sally has been in the business since the “film” days, she has kept up to date with the ever-changing “digital” technology that the industry demands. Sally is fluent in Photoshop, photo viewing and editing software, Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge.

Her knowledge and experience with public relations, planning and managing will be a major asset to those who hire her as their photographer.

Collaborating with her photography, Sally also offers skills as a writer, experienced in editorial pieces, biographies, social media and blogs; including interviewing and research projects. Sally’s years of experience and diverse talents will benefit all her clients for years to come.
